Interesting vacation...

For my 2 weeks vacation I spent 2 weeks in Seoul with Matt.  It's not official over but I wanted to post today because I had a unexpected visit from the US Embassy today.

Anyway, I spent most of the vacay catching up on sleep and eating Chinese food.  But we did make it to the aquarium in Seoul and to a soccer match.  I also manged to drag Matt to a Rodin exhibit.
The aquarium was actually pretty disappointing.  They had random animals in there, I told Matt that when we go to the states we will go the Atlanta aquarium.   So here a few pics:
By the way, we refer to the shark as the "Iranian" shark because it's a joke between us about the Iranian guys.  All of them go to the gym and work on their arms, so when you seem them they always have tight shirts with rolled up sleeves.

We also were fortunate enough to go see FC Barcelona play against FC Seoul at the world cup stadium in Seoul.  The match was pretty boring, but we go to see Messi play...for about 30 minutes.
I can honestly say Messi was the main reason people came to watch the match.  When he wasn't on the field the camera would constantly be on him and when he did play, people would cheer if he came close to the ball.  But I can't blame them, I came to see Messi play also...and for only 30,000 won...It's like when I went to see the AC Milan game, I didn't care who won I just wanted to see Kaka and Ronaldhino play :)

The Rodin exhibit was pretty good, check out Musings of an Uninspired Artist for a full review.  But I can say I may never take Matt to an exhibit again.  It was his first time seeing sculpture...ever.  He was more fascinated with the fact that the sculptures where nude.  I keep forgetting that men are sometimes slightly immature.  But I did have a good laugh at his constant comments of "penis".

In visa news, today while I was taking another nap I got a surprising visit from 2 people from the US embassy.  They wanted to do a home visit to make sure Matt and I were in a legitimate marriage.  To be honest they have me worried, one of the woman went into this whole spill about men from Pakistan marrying an American citizen just to get a green card and divorcing them to marry someone from Pakistan and bring them to the states.  They also said they didn't understand why we didn't live together...which we do, me being there should have been proof.  But they were concerned because I work in another city.  In this day in age this shouldn't be surprising to them, I spoke honestly: I'm not about to give up a secure job where I'm employed through the Korean government to take a job at a private school where they may not pay me.  Also, it is not easy for a black female to get a job within Seoul.  I'm going to call them tomorrow to see what the outcome was.  I'm praying for positive results because I haven't came up with a plan B...which truthfully would be to move to Iran.  I'm hoping it all works out in the end....Insa'Allah :)
