Low Threshold of Pain...

People at my workplace have finally found out that I am married.  The two people I'm closest with already knew, now everyone does.  The reason is because it states in my contract that I get 7 days off for my marriage.  I should have asked for it earlier, but I asked my co-teacher (knowing I wouldn't get it...but it didn't hurt to ask).  The principal did say no, but at dinner with the other English teachers I found out one of the two previous midnight run teachers (name for teachers who leave Korea without telling anyone...even their school...btw I'm the third teacher) had asked for the same thing, for her actual marriage and he said no.  So the story goes, her bf came over, she asked for time off, they said no, and she got married and left.  I only have about 3 more months and my husband still needs to get his visa so no midnight run for me.
The title of the blog comes from a statement I made to a doctor/tattoo artist was giving Matt a tattoo.  For those who don't know, you have to be a licensed physician to do tattoos in Korea, so a lot of doctors do tattoos and simple plastic surgery and tattoo removal.  Great idea, he can remove the tattoo you paid him to put on you :)

If you can't tell from the picture, Matt didn't take the pain too well. Which I knew he wouldn't because I removed tape from his arm one day and he almost cried.  But most guys don't, compared to most woman (but we're suppose to have a higher threshold of pain...childbirth and all)...The doctor was so worried about him that he only did the outline of the tattoo.  He was suppose to come back next Sunday for him to finish, but after doing just the outline he told him to wait two weeks and broke it up into two sessions.  Matt was amazed that I got both of my tattoos in one session each (one even has color) but his is much larger than mine.

Here are some little updates and tidbits:

1.  we got all the visa paperwork in (except for a few support letters, which I will take by later) and we're now just waiting for AP.  Hopefully it will be over soon and we can buy plan tickets.
2.  I am also planning a trip to a "Penis Park"...it is what you're thinking.  It's a park full of sculptures of  penises.  Matt and I are suppose to go next Sunday...because it sounds really interesting.  I'll tell you more about it after the trip...sort of leave you in suspense. For anyone in Korea do a google search of Samcheok-city if you're interested.
3.  I have two weeks vacation coming up after one week of "summer camp".  I've planned to just stay in Korea and do some small trips in order to save money. I'll post about what I'm come across wondering in Seoul and other places.
4.  I am finally studying Farsi again...this time I hope I can keep with it.
5.  My brother will be leaving Korea and returning to the states because of his wife's complications with her pregnancy.  It's bad news but the good news is, he has invited Matt to stay with him while I'm doing the military thing...Matt and I even offered to pay rent.  This was major news for Matt because him and my brother are bff...seriously they are...they're like twins.
6.  I finally have a new post up at "Musings of a Uninspired Artist"...so check it out
7.  These are pictures from the drums I learned to play at my orientation a few weeks ago...again...I just found the cord to my camera so sorry for the late uploads.

So happy your brother and Matt hit it off. He'll bring good news back to the family.
